Museum Researcher Job Description 

Museum researchers design and conduct research in scientific, historical, cultural or artistic fields in order to provide documentation or support for museum exhibits and publications.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Design and conduct research projects

• Conduct research on historic monuments, buildings, and scenes to construct exhibits

• Utilize library archives, collections and other resources

• Record, analyze, evaluate and interpret information obtained from research

• Monitor the construction of exhibits to ensure authenticity of elements such as colour, proportion and wardrobe

• Prepare reports on completed projects for publication, presentation or other use

• Validate findings by discussing them with other relevant personnel
