Group home workers help group home residents become independent and develop into productive citizens by monitoring their behaviors and teaching them life skills.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Getting clients to and from appointments by providing or facilitating transportation

• Function as a liaison between law enforcement, social services, client families and other organizations

• Admitting new clients and discharging clients who are leaving the home

• Monitor the behavior of clients which includes mediating disputes, counseling clients and removing dangerous items or substances from the home

• Teach clients how to live independently, which may include teaching skills such as how to prepare meals

• Prepare reports on the progress or regression of clients
