Street Outreach Worker Job Description

Street outreach workers are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with drug users, and utilizing a non-judgmental approach in order to provide effective and accessible health promotion services.  

Typical Job Duties

• Work closely with outreach program coordinators

• Establish and maintain relationships with individuals who suffer from drug addiction

• Establish eligibility criteria for those participating in programs in liaison with program coordinator

• May be required to provide transportation for families and youth

• Provide individuals with program information 

• Assess the needs of program participants in order to provide referrals to external resources when necessary

• Enter, monitor and update information in client database
