Benefits of new homepage

We are pleased to announce the recent launch of our new homepage! We have conducted some user-based navigational tests and used the results to everyone's advantage. We also took this opportunity to implement some new features into academicinvest.com.

New 'Career Options' feature receiving great feedback

We have recently introduced a new feature, which will serve many students who are currently attending, or planning to venture into post-secondary studies. If students see a career field which interests them using this tool, then they will be able to further specialize their studies. This will also aid students who are debating between two areas of specialization within a general degree, such as whether to pursue 'History' or 'Psychology' as their major while pursuing an 'Arts' degree.

Unsure of what career fields await after graduation? You're not alone. In fact, when I graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a major in Political Science, I thought the only career options I had were to become a Politician, or continue on to graduate studies. Our "Jobs" Feature

We are still in the final stages of fine-tuning our new "Jobs" feature, located in the top navigation bar, which will be replacing our front-page "Internships and Employment" feature block. Our new Jobs feature will showcase more positions from across North America, which will cater to current students, new grads, as well as current professionals who are upgrading their skill sets.

New JobThread Widget

We have recently installed a new widget to the interior pages of AcademicInvest.com which features employment positions courtesy of JobThread. Currently it shows international postings, although after two weeks or so it will begin to show only positions from Canada. As time goes on the JobThread widget becomes more 'intelligent' and demonstrates only job postings related to the visitor's geographic area.
We hope that this application will help complement our own job board to provide our users with the most employment opportunities possible. If you have any questions...
Colleges vs. universities - which is the better investment?

Colleges and universities traditionally offer two seperate services to their students: theory based education, and employment skills training. Of course there are exceptions and sometimes both can be acquired from the same institution.
