Many students are intimidated by the process of applying for scholarships, as well as the time it takes to fill out the necessary applications. The fact is, that it is well worth the time and effort. For example, if you take 10 hours to apply for different scholarships, and you end with with $4,000 in scholarship funding, it would be the equivalent of working for $400 an hour, which is plenty.

Patience certainly is a virtue, and with regards to the process of applying for a scholarship, there is no exception. Don't waste your time applying for a scholarship partially, you may as well not apply at all. Be sure to fill out each answer as thoroughly as possible. You may find yourself applying for many scholarships, and this may take a lot of time and energy, but rest assured, if you have chosen to apply for scholarships for which you have a good chance of becoming a recipient, it will be worth it. There are many, many scholarships out there for those who are willing to apply, the trick might be finding them. Be sure to ask you parents, relatives, friends, co-workers, teachers and coaches if they are invloved in an organization which awards scholarships. You may even be part of such an organization yourself without even knowing it! Also, be sure to visit the financial aid page of you post-secondary institution for a listing of all of the school specific scholarships which may be available to you. Although the amount of awards and level of potential funding are uncertain, it is an unfortunate truth that many scholarships and grants go unsued, year after year.
Among the reasons, is that there are simply not enough applicants to fulfil the scholarship guidelines.
