What is an Art Advisor?

 

Art Advisor Job Description

Art advisors are consultants who are hired by corporations, hotels, health care facilities and private art collectors in order to provide advice relating to purchasing art for the purpose of decoration or keeping in collection.

 

 

Job Duties

• Meet with clients in order to discuss their art needs, such as what area of a building needs artwork in order to make it more visually appealing

• Gain an understanding of what mood the client is looking to achieve

• Select pieces of art that will create a certain mood

• Install artwork or place artistic sculptures in such a way that will be effective additions to the building’s décor

• May provide appraisals of artwork

• Maintain current knowledge of trends in the art world
