Caricaturist Job Description

Caricaturists create artwork that deliberately distorts a person’s appearance in a comical, derogatory or flattering fashion. Caricaturists are often employed or contracted by magazines, newspapers, books websites and other publications.

 

 

Caricaturist Job Duties

• Deliver a convincing replica of the subject’s mannerisms

• Alter a subject’s facial features while still allowing them to be recognizable to viewers

• Perform research on the physical appearance, opinions, or politics of the subject

• Maintain portfolio of work

• Prepare preliminary samples of work to meet a client’s request

• Prepare final drawings for publication

• Negotiate fees
