Court Artist Job Description

Courtroom artists are responsible for sketching scenes from within a courtroom during a trial or other court proceedings. The court artist must create drawings of  the parties involved in the case as well as the emotions and atmosphere of particular moments

Typical Job Duties

• Capture key moments of court proceedings

• Liaise with media outlets

• May show up to trials and ask guards for permission to sketch trials

• Use pencils and other mediums to create sketches of individuals and scenes during trial proceedings

• Ensure not to interfere with or disrupt court proceedings
