A broadcaster is responsible for entertaining and informing radio, internet and television audiences by presenting information in an accessible and attractive way. They are the public voice or face of the programs that are broadcast on the internet, television or radio.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Introduce and host radio, television or internet programs

• Research topics and facts for items to be featured on a specific program

• Plan and rehearse shows

• Write scripts

• May read short news, traffic or weather reports

• May read from a script, auto-cue or improvise

• Ensure the program runs according to the schedule

• Liaise with other members of the production team, including the technical team

• Respond quickly to program problems or changes
