Choral directors manage the various aspects of musical ensembles such as choirs and glee clubs. Choral directors oversee and administer the music programs of various organizations such as churches and schools.

 

They often compose and lead vocal performances and may be required to instruct music classes.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Select music for choral group

• Conduct rehearsals

• Select soloists and accompanying vocalists

• Recruit new members and ensure uniformity of the group

• Schedule performances on behalf of the group

• May select group attire

• Liaise with the administration of the church or school regarding funding

• Provide individual guidance as appropriate
