Foreign trade mangers have the responsibility of developing the foreign trade policies and procedures of their organization. They must ensure that all personnel involved in the importing and exporting of goods are compliant with government imposed regulations and procedures.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Review and approve import and export documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and budgetary restrictions

• Develop and implement compliant processes and procedures for all import/export activities

• Manage all applicable international trade agreement programs, such as NAFTA

• Manage the database of the country of origin

• Confer with external counsel to resolve any compliance violations or issues which occur

• File customs disclosures when necessary

• Serve as primary point of contact for all Customs-related audits and compliance initiatives

• Supervise all employees involved in the export and import of goods; in order to ensure they are compliant with government imposed regulations
