Assistant editors are responsible for assisting a publication editor with various tasks, including reviewing copy, performing fact checking research and other related duties.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Conduct fact-checking research

• Provide writers with suggestions regarding how to improve the composition

• Provide administrative support to the editor

• Maintain production schedules

• Perform data entry and database searches 

• May review and evaluate manuscripts and other such compositions

• Provide the editor with reports pertaining to project completion status
