What is a World Food Program Officer?

 

World Food Program Officer Job Description

World Food Program Officers work towards the objective of their local offices and contribute to them by conducting and facilitating a range of activities.

 

They may be expected to act as a liaison and communication facilitator between the program, its partners, the community and government agencies.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Participate in meetings with government donors, NGOs and UN agencies

• Assist in the implementation of initiatives and systems for disaster preparedness, early warning and recovery

• Identify and build relationships with cooperating partners

• Prepare distribution plans and review distribution reports

• Become conversant with the various generic tools for disaster management such as assessment and survey techniques and questionnaires

• Visit site field and conduct monitoring and supervision of activities

• May travel for training purposes
