Sportscaster Job Description

Sportscasters provide commentary for amateur and professional sports games on television and radio. Sports casters also interview athletes and write sports stories for radio, television or publication.

Typical Job Duties

• Research statistics and facts related to players and sports teams

• Provide live commentary, analysis and opinion during the broadcast of a game

• Research sports stories and interview athletes, coaches, fans or management before, during or after a game

• May write articles and perform fact checking research

• May travel to cover a team or a story
