Witness protection program workers are responsible for providing protective services to maximize the physical safety and security of victims and witnesses of crime.

 

They must also perform program and case management and administrative duties. 

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Obtain, protect and organize highly confidential information

• Conduct risk assessments regarding victims and witnesses who may become included in the program

• Liaise with internal and external interlocutors on behalf of the Protection Officer

• Manage individual cases within the program

• Maintain information database concerning victims and witnesses

• Travel for extended periods of time for the purpose of conducting field missions

• Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management regarding protective measures taken for individual cases
