Postal inspectors are responsible for examining cases or allegations of criminal behaviour that pertains to the sending or receiving of mail using the postal system.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Perform surveillance of potential perpetrators

• Identify patterns of wrong doing by analyzing delivery strings and receipts

• Interview witnesses and attempt to obtain confessions

• May be involved in counter-terrorism activities

• Spearhead anti-fraud efforts

• May be required to testify in a court of law

• Confer with other regional and federal agencies to gather evidence surrounding a case
