Colourizing Technician Job Description

The main duty of Colourizing Technicians is to ensure that various forms of publications have the appropriate colour scheme and end result as described by the Artistic Director.



Typical Job Duties

• Act as a liaison with pre-media equipment provider to maintain efficient and consistent operating procedures

• Arrange scanning of 3-D items and reflective art

• Responsible for the calibration of various pieces of equipment, such as monitors, printers, and colour variance equipment

• Oversees colour proofing workflow to assure that only approved images are used in final page files

• Work in conjunction with Pre-Press Technician to ensure page file accuracy and compliance with defined specifications

• Assist Pre-Press Technician monthly volume clean-up and archiving

• Assist Advertising Coordinators, Sales Representatives and sometimes customers with technical difficulties

• May be required to cover the duties of the Pre-Press Technician

• Advise Director of Production of various department needs, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement

• Be up to date regarding all pre-media vendor technology, software, workflow and procedures
