Camp Counselor Job Description

Camp counselors plan and schedule the daily and weekly activities of camp guests, as well as ensure that they have a safe, enriching and enjoyable environment.

Typical Job Duties

• Plan and schedule activities of campers

• Ensure the campers have a safe, enriching and fun experience

• Communicate health and safety regulations to all campers

• Observe individual camper behaviour and assess its appropriateness

• Liaise with other staff to ensure camp policies are adhered to

• Offer guidance during group activities

• Enforce camp rules and regulations

• Apply appropriate behaviour management techniques

• Administer First Aid and other emergency procedures as necessary
